Early Roots of AI
The roots of AI can be traced back to the 19th century, when mathematicians and philosophers began to explore the possibility of creating machines that could think and reason like humans. The concept of a “logical machine” was introduced by mathematician George Boole in the mid-1800s, and the idea of a universal computing machine was proposed by mathematician and logician Alan Turing in the 1930s.
The Emergence of Modern AI
The modern era of AI began in the 1950s, when computer scientists began to develop algorithms and techniques for creating intelligent machines. One of the first successful AI programs was the Logic Theorist, developed by Allen Newell and Herbert A. Simon in 1955.
